These certificates are intended for use when extending or modifying an existing fire detection and fire alarm system carried out in accordance with the requirements of BS 5839-1, as amended by BS 5839-6.

Product Description
These certificates are to be used only for the extension or modification (an alteration) of an existing Grade 'A' fire detection and fire alarm system, as described by Table 1 of BS 5839-6 (as amended) where the use of a Grade 'A' system is recommended within dwellings, supported housing, and the communal areas of HMOs and sheltered housing, carried out in accordance with the relevant requirements of BS 5839-1: 2025 (as amended).
